We are always here to help you. Here are answers to frequently asked questions to help you learn more about our services and prepare for your visit.

Wall
Do you charge for missed or cancelled appointments?
Yes. It is practice policy that patient should give us 24 hour’s notice when cancelling an appointment. If this has not been given there will be a charge of £1 per minute depending on the length of the appointment. The same applies to missed appointments.
How do I book my first appointment?
To book simply give our friendly team a call on: 02890 777025, drop us an email on info@gatelodgedental.com or via our online booking system.
What information do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Any medical history in detail and a list of any medication you may be on.
Can I book an emergency appointment as a new patient?
Yes. Please do get in touch and we will be able to let you know when we have availability.
Do you have payment options?
Yes. We can advise you of these when you are in.
Do you accept NHS patients?
No. We are no longer accepting NHS patients unless the patient is a child of an existing private patient of the practice. They will remain under the NHS until they are 18 and in full time education or until they turn 18, whereby they will have to change to private or the practice membership scheme.
What should I do if I have a cold sore?
All dental treatment should be deferred for patients with active lesions as the virus can spread during the procedure, placing both yourself and the dentist at risk of possible infection or reinfection. We recommend that you wait until the cold sore has completely healed before attending your appointment. Not only because there is a high risk of spreading the virus to other parts of the face but also because your lips may feel sore and could crack or bleed during the dental treatment.
Is there parking at the surgery?
Yes. We have a carpark for parking in and there is also ample parking outside the surgery.
Is the surgery wheelchair accessible?
Yes. All our surgeries are on the ground floor. We have a ramp at the side of the building that wheelchair users can use to access the building.
